John Cena has been in the news since he submitted to Gunther in his most recent match. Cena’s appearance at Saturday Night’s Main Event disappointed many fans after he gave in to The Ring General. With Cena having previously stated that he would not return for another match, fans felt he deserved a more heroic farewell rather than losing by submission.
Becky Lynch challenges official submission call
The controversy around tapping out resurfaced during the Women’s WarGames match, where Becky Lynch lost by submission to AJ Lee, giving the victory to the babyface team. However, Lynch has strongly disputed the official decision. The Man, who was the lone villain in the match and faced the combined force of Rhea Ripley, AJ Lee, and others, insists that she did not submit but was instead waving.
Becky Lynch fires back after WarGames tap-out controversy
The issue came up again during an interview on Busted Open, and Lynch did not hold back. She made it clear that she was unhappy with the narrative and demanded an apology for what she called misinformation. Lynch firmly denied tapping out and rejected any comparison to Cena’s submission loss against Gunther.
“No. I want an apology… for saying that I tapped, spreading misinformation because I did not tap. It’s clear as day I did not tap. I was waving everybody over. I’m not John Cena. I do not give up,” Lynch said.
Following her loss to Maxxine Dupri for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, Lynch has become increasingly entangled in an ongoing storyline conflict with WWE Raw management and Adam Pearce.
