For the majority of the last ten years, Roman Reigns has undeniably been the face of WWE, representing as the Tribal Chief and attracting an enormous audience to his shows. However, 2025 has been a weirdly hard year for the "OTC" (One True Champion), and the latest statistics imply it could be one of the most difficult times of his career. Despite the fact that Reigns' star power and presence are still very powerful, his ring-performances record this year is a little less bright.

Roman Reigns’ record takes a hit amid a challenging year

In the past, Roman Reigns was a superstar who was extremely difficult to defeat, he was so tough that he seldom hit the mat after a loss, and the victory of the Universal title for a record-breaking 1,316 days only served to further confirm his strength. But, in 2025, everything changed. He was participating in only seven matches throughout the year which already counted as extremely low compared to previous years.

Besides that, he was defeated and lost to him three times, leaving him with only three wins. Hence, his win percentage would be around 42.9%, which is a complete lie to the record of an invincible giant he has been holding for most of his WWE career.

Roman Reigns endures a rare downturn amid major match losses

The defeats have not only been filler matches, to start with. Reigns was taken out of the Royal Rumble, he lost a big triple threat match at WrestleMania after his long-time partner, Paul Heyman turned against him, and in addition to that, he suffered defeats in other high-profile matches, such as losing in a very unusual street fight at Crown Jewel and having a hard time at Survivor Series WarGames.

All these together can be seen as perhaps the most difficult period in his wrestling career, a year that even the best can’t completely escape in the wrestling industry’s ups and downs, but still, it seems uncharacteristically tough for a star of Reigns’ level.
