The final match of Cena at a Premium Live Event was in Survivor Series: WarGames on November 29, 2025, at Petco Park, San Diego. The 17-time world champion engaged Dominik Mysterio to his WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Liv Morgan’s Shocking Return Helps Dominik Steal The Win
The match kicked off with a lot of action, and as usual, Dom did not play fair. Finn Balor and JD McDonagh offered a helping hand to the Judgement Day member in no time at all, although they had to take a second AA blow off the Last Real Champion. The greatest surprise occurred when Liv Morgan, who had been out during many weeks due to a shoulder operation, returned to the stage. Liv rolled in as if she was about to turn against Dom and even gave him a slap, which was a complete setup. She was all lovey-dovey with Cena and then gave him a low blow. Dom executed his Frog Splash, and the referee counted 1-2-3. He went off with his girl and the title.
Triple H Reflects On Cena’s Effort After Heartbreaking Title Loss
Cena has lost the title and therefore, he proceeded to go backstage, where Triple H had beaten him. During a post-show of Survivor Series, Hunter told him that the moment Cena was put into the gorilla pose after his match, he told the WWE legend how honoured he was to be able to see him wrestle.
“Let’s first talk about the Intercontinental Championship match. And let’s talk about John Cena. I said it when he walked back in the Gorilla Position when the night was over. It was an honour to watch that. It really was. John is just knocking it out of the park, and now we’re down to one. There is just one left.”
