Cena, a 17-time world champion and the most notable sports entertainer, has gained the recognition and adoration of WWE coworkers, icons, commentators, and even crossover stars. The accolades are a testament to his influence in the ring and on the viewers for over twenty years.

Before the last fight, numerous from WWE paid their respect to him through social media which are The Undertaker, who looked back at their past rivalry and went on to commend Cena's career by saying “Good job”, the same words he had used first upon seeing Cena on his debut and also declaring his respect for Cena's allegiance to "Hustle, loyalty, and respect."

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who was Cena’s long-time enemy and later partner, posted a touching tribute video, where he said that Cena “embodies” the notion of “it’s good to be important, but it’s better to be nice” and expressed his gratitude to the wrestler for being a part of the wrestling world.

Michael Cole’s emotional tribute ahead of Cena’s farewell

There were some tributes that didn't come from the wrestling ring. The long-serving WWE announcer, Michael Cole gave an emotional "apology beforehand," acknowledging that he would be partial and emotionally charged during the description of Cena's last fight, and promising to exclaim "One last time, the Greatest of All Time John Cena" at the top of his voice.
