During a recent conversation, John Cena dropped a hint that the 10-time WWE Champion Brock Lesnar might quit wrestling in 2026. This year's Wrestlepalooza saw the former champion battle his old foe Lesnar, and to the surprise of all, the Beast Incarnate managed to beat him and even pin him in under 9 minutes. The fans were not very happy with this result because it was a weak depiction of Cena. In a conversation with Chris Van Vliet on his Insights podcast, John Cena reminisced about his days inside the ring.
John Cena comments on in-ring timing and Brock Lesnar’s agility
While 'The Last Real Champion' conveyed how he felt about the match ending sooner than he'd anticipated, with television and from his point of view in the ring, the entire time probably seemed anything but 'quick.'

“Well, I guess quick is perspective, because my frame didn’t feel like it was going fast enough… Again, I love the public’s ability to weigh in. You have this guy who’s returning, who absolutely looks like he hasn’t aged a day, moves like it. He can split his pants and still move like a ballerina, slip on his Pyro, and do a ninja roll and be okay.”

Lesnar’s SummerSlam return and farewell teased by John Cena
When talking about Lesnar, John Cena, whose retirement is planned for December 13, unwittingly disclosed that WWE could be planning a grand final farewell for Lesnar at SummerSlam 2026, which will be held in Minnesota, Lesnar’s birthplace.
“He’s a beast. It’s his first time back. I’ve been in this seat before. It’s like I’m always in the seat when Brock comes back, Rock after Miami, who’s the next guy? SummerSlam with Roman, here he comes again.
After he beats Taker for the streak, I’ve sat in this seat before. You have to figure out who gets the shine that night and if, in his return again, only my perspective. This attraction, where we are going to build until he goes into the sunset, which is, I think, in Minnesota? Creatively, it’s very soon. To create a mountain to climb for someone, you have to build the mountain.”
