The Viper’s final match took place on SmackDown’s October 3 episode, where he partnered with Cody Rhodes but was ultimately defeated by The Vision’s Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. He did show up a few times after SummerSlam, but that was his last PLE match since he skipped Clash in Paris, Wrestlepalooza, Crown Jewel, and Survivor Series.
Fan frustration grows ahead of WWE’s Netflix milestone
A considerable number of fans were not happy with WWE for not letting one of their oldest and most experienced wrestlers perform for such a long time. The wrestler’s spouse went as far as to point out the company with a post on Instagram, indicating her dissatisfaction with the company’s top management.
With only a little more than two weeks left in 2025 and no more premium live events planned for the year, the WWE management is concentrating on the coming 1st anniversary of the company’s arrival on Netflix, after which the Saudi Arabia Royal Rumble will follow.
Title defense confirmed as Orton’s return timeline emerges
Earlier, it was revealed that CM Punk would be defending his World Heavyweight Championship belt against Bron Breakker on the RAW episode scheduled for January 5. Meanwhile, Randy Orton is expected to return by the end of January. When Orton is not involved in the wrestling business, he spends valuable time with his family.

Orton has just celebrated his tenth wedding anniversary with Kim Orton, posting on Instagram with pictures from Belize. WWE, on the other hand, might have accidentally revealed the day of his comeback, which looks like the SmackDown taping on January 30, before the Royal Rumble 2026. Orton, who is a 14-time world champion, last won the title at the 2020 Hell in a Cell where he defeated Drew McIntyre in a singles match.
