Kane Williamson’s heroic knock

Kane Williamson played an epic knock of unbeaten 121 to ensure India’s entry in the WTC second consecutive final against Australia. The winning run came when the former captain and the injured Neil Wagner ran a bye, Williamson securing the victory by diving full length to get his bat down in the crease before a direct hit broke the stumps.

India vs Australia 4th Test match result

Meanwhile, the fourth and final Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) has been drawn between India and Australia. The host won the series 2-1, and the result in Ahmedabad did not affect any of their chances to feature in the 2021/23 Test scheduled final this summer.

Australia have already secured their berth in the final at The Oval by winning the 3rd Test match in Indore with a 68.51 PCT.

Second WTC final for India

For India, it will be a second consecutive entry in the summit clash, in which they faced off against New Zealand in the 2019/21 cycle, losing by eight wickets to the Black Caps. Australia, on the other hand, had missed out on a final spot last time around by a 0.8-point difference to their Tran-Tasman rivals.
