South Africa became the first team to qualify for the World Test Championship 2023-25 final after a two-wicket win over Pakistan in the first Test played at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. The South African team chased down 148 runs courtesy heroic innings from Temba Bavuma and Aiden Markram who led the charge for Proteas’ victory in a thrilling contest. Temba Bavuma and Co made it to the final of the WTC for the first time in the history of the tournament. The South African will be joined by either India, Australia or Sri Lanka at Lord’s, however, the most chances are of India and Australia.

South Africa are placed at the top of the World Test Championship 2023-25 points table with seven wins out of 11 games and a point percentage of 66.67%. Australia are sitting in the second position followed by India and Sri Lanka. India’s point percentage is currently 55.88 and have won nine games from 17 matches. In case the Indian team wishes to make a place in the WTC 2023-25 final without depending on others then they have to win the remaining two Test matches against Australia.
