New Delhi: A huge step towards the Women’s cricket in India, the inaugural Women’s Premier League is scheduled to be play from March 4 and will be continue till March 26 in Mumbai. The players auction will be take place today, February 13 in Mumbai.

The history defining moment will mark the new beginning in the Women’s cricket, as one of the top stars will go under the hammer today. Five franchises—from Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Lucknow and Ahmedabad will loose their pocket for the best players in the Women’s sports.

Player with base value of Rs 50 lakh:

Indian players: Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, Renuka Singh, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Pooja Vastrakar, Richa Ghosh, Sneh Rana, Meghna Singh

Overseas players: Ashleigh Gardner, Ellyse Perry, Meg Lanning, Alyssa Healy, Jess Jonassen, Darcie Brown, Sophie Ecclestone, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Danni Wyatt, Katherine Sciver-Brunt, Sophie Devine, Sinalo Jafta, Deandra Dottin, Loryn Phiri.

Auction Rules & Info

409 players will go under the hammer (pruned from 1525 player registrations). Out of the 409 players, 246 are Indians and the rest 163 are overseas. 199 players are uncapped and 8 are from associate nations.

A maximum of 90 slots are available to be filled, with 30 of those belonging to overseas players.

Each team has a purse of INR 12 crores to spend. They must spend a minimum of INR 9 crores at the auction table.

 Each squad must have a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 18 members. Each team can also have a maximum of six overseas players in their roster.

 The players at the auction will be presented in sets on the basis of specialism – marquee players, batters, allrounders, wicketkeepers, fast bowlers, spin bowlers and emerging players.

 The players in the auction register have five different slabs of base prices – INR 50 lakh, INR 40 lakh, INR 30 lakh, INR 20 lakh and INR 10 lakh

 Among the 24 players in the highest slab of base price (INR 50 lakh) include Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verma, Ellyse Perry, Sophie Ecclestone, Sophie Devine and Deandra Dottin.
