The Women’s Premier League 2025 auction held in Bengaluru was a huge as 19 players from all over the globe were picked by five teams. 120 players went under the hammer and INR 09.30 crores were spent by teams to strengthen their squads. Uncapped Indian cricketer Simran Shaikh turned out to be the most expensive of the auction and was picked up for a whopping price of INR 1.90 crores by the Gujarat Giants whereas G Kamalini ended up achieving a price of INR 1.60 and got picked by the Mumbai Indians. Kamalini has been the talk of the town due to her exploits in the previous few months.

The Women’s Premier League 2025 will be organising its third season. The tournament is expected to begin in the month of February just ahead of the Indian Premier League. The competition has turned out to be acting as the IPL of women’s cricket wherein many young stars have showcased their talent to the world stage by performing in the league. Some of them include, Shreyanka Patil, Sajana S and Saika Ishaque and many more.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the reigning champions of the WPL and the Smriti Mandhana led side will be willing to defend the title. On the other hand, two-time finalists Delhi Capitals will once again be among the favourites to lift the trophy along with the Mumbai Indians.
