Sophie Devine struck first for RCB as she removed both the openers Devika Vaidya (0) and Alyssa Healy (1) in the very first over. Megan Schutt then scalped the wicket ofTahila McGrath to break the backbone of UPW in the next over.

Perry scalps two
The wickets kept coming as Elysse Perry swung the contest entirely into RCB’s favor by removing set Grace Harris and Deepti Sharma in the same over.
In the last over of the first innings, Shreyanka Patil first removed Anjali Sarvani for 8(9). Then there was a run-out in the following delivery as Sophie Ecclestone searched for three runs but only got two runs.
