March 26, India’s and Mumbai Indians skipper Harmanpreet Kaur could not hide her smile after winning the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023, she defeated her old arch-rival Meg Lanning’s side Delhi Capitals by 7-wickets on Sunday at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

MI’s captained played an important role of 37 runs as she stitched the partnership of 72-run stand with Nat Sciver-Brunt to steady the ship for her side.
Champion Kaur’s words
“Great experience, we were waiting for so many years. Everyone enjoyed this throughout the dressing room. It feels like a dream, for everyone here. So many people were asking when WPL will come and that day is here, and we are so happy and proud,” Harmapreet Kaur said after winning the WPL
“Very happy with how everyone performed. I think staying positive is key, we were lucky with full tosses going in our favour. This is a special moment for all of us, I have been waiting a long time and today I know what it feels like to be winning (laughs),” Harmanpreet said at the post-match presentation.

Kaur finally win over Lanning
The 34-year-old Harmanpreet finally broke her duck against the Australian skipper and five-time world champion Meg Lanning. She finally got her hand on the coveted trophy as Mumbai Indians stamped first-ever champions of WPL 2023.
