WPL 2023: Harmanpreet Kaur’s half-century guides MI to fourth consecutive win

New Delhi: Mumbai Indians (MI) continued their dominance in the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL) as they trashed UP Warriorz (UPW) by 8 wickets on Sunday at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

Mumbai Indians are yet to be defeated in the tournament; Harmanpreet’s team maintained their top position in the five-team point table with 8 points in 4 matches. Captain Kaur is leading from the front. She has lost the toss in all four matches but that does not restrict her from winning the matches.

Harmanpreet scored brilliantly 53 runs from 33 balls. Kaur and Nat Sciver Brunt led from with the bat to help their team win inside 18 overs and register four out of four wins in the tournament.

Saika Ishaque: Backbone of MI bowling attack

The left-arm spinner Saika Ishaque once again proved to key player for the team with the ball. She first removed Devika Vaidya in the second over of the match. After that, she scalped the wickets of two most dangerous batters, captain Healy and all-rounder Tahlia McGrath. They both shared the 82-run stand for the 3rd wicket. But it was Ishaque once again, who got both of them in the same over to push UP on the backfoot. Once at 140/2, UP finished at just 159/6.
