New Delhi: Gujarat Giants won the toss and decided to bat first against UP Warriorz in Women’s Premeir League (WPL) match 17 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Monday.
Must win contest for GG
Gujarat will be in search of much needed win to survive in the race of play offs. While, a victory over Gujarat Giants will be enough for UPW to confirm their place in the knock-out stage.
Gujarat made one change as they brought Monica Patel in place of Sabbhineni Meghana in the playing XI.

UPW eyes on play offs
GG stands on the bottom of points table and UPW is on the third position. UPW, who have played six matches in the tournament, have a good chance to make into the play offs. UPW’s victory in today’s match, will eliminate the remaining last two teams of the table, RCB and GG.

Gujarat Giants put up a challenging 188/4 in 20 overs, however, were blown away by Sophie Devine’s astonishing knock. Devine smashed 99 off 36 balls as RCB chased down the 189-run target in 15.3 overs, with eight wickets to spare.
UP Warriorz, on the other hand, head into the contest on the back of a five-wicket win. The team first packed Mumbai for 127 and chased the target in the 20th over.
