New Delhi: The Indian squad for World Cup 2023 has been announced with skipper Rohit Sharma as captain while, Hardik Pandya being the vice captain. As of now, the team was currently playing Asia Cup 2023.
After this, the team will play ODI World Cup 2023 in their own home. For this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will announce its team.
ODI World Cup 2023 will commence from October 5. The opening match will be played between defending champions England and New Zealand.
New Zealand had lost to England in the final of the last World Cup. This time the title match of the World Cup will be played in Ahmedabad on 19 November.
India-Pakistan match on October 14
This is going to be the first time that India will host the ODI World Cup alone. Earlier it had hosted jointly the World Cups in 1987, 1996 and 2011. The Indian team will play its first match in the World Cup 2023 season on 8 October. This match will be played against Australia in Chennai.
