New Delhi: The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to start on February 10 that will be continued till February 26. South Africa will host the World Cup. The tournament campaign will start with a Group A match between South Africa Women and Sri Lanka Women at Newlands in Cape Town.
This is the eighth edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup. Indian Women’s team will look to finally lift the World Cup, after the previous final’s defeat. Earlier, India successfully clinched the U-19 Women’s World Cup in South Africa. The senior Women’s in Blue will now look to end their World Cup drought as well.
In this edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup, a total of 10 teams will fight for the World Champions crown. Australia Women, Bangladesh Women, New Zealand Women, South Africa Women, and Sri Lanka Women are in Group A. England Women, India Women, Ireland Women, Pakistan Women, and West Indies Women have been placed in Group B.
A total of 23 matches will be played, Australia is defending champion and the most successful team in this tournament with 5 times title clinch. The knockout matches will be played in Newlands, Cape Town on February 23 and February 24, followed by the final at the same venue on February 26.
