New Delhi: Australia captain Meg Lanning won the toss and elected to bat first against the India in the first semi-final of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. Indian Women side will step in the ground with the aim to lift the World Cup against the mighty Australia.
Harmanpreet back in the team
India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has recovered from the sickness and she is back in the squad. Meanwhile, Pooja Vastrakar had to miss out the semi-final due to upper respiratory tract infection. Right-arm off break bowler Sneha Rana will replace Pooja in the squad.

“Pretty good wickets. Want to get out there and have some fun. Jonassen and Healy are in for King and Annabel Sutherland. Wicket has been playing well here. We’ll adjust accordingly. We have some good weapons to deal with what’s thrown at us,” Meg Lanning, Australia captain said after winning the toss.

“Yeah Pooja is unwell. Sneh is in for Pooja. Radha Yadav comes in for Raja. I was unwell but I am fine now. One thing we have been discussing is that we need to bat well. That reminds me, Yastika is also in the side. That’s why we have added another batter. We have to do really well in all three departments,” Harmanpreet Kaur, captain India.
