New Delhi: Indian Women’s cricket team will start their World Cup campaign in a high-octane match against arc-rival Pakistan on February 12 at the Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town, South Africa.
Team India will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur for this coveted world championship. Indian star batter Smriti Mandhana will serve as Kaur’s deputy.
Team India is placed in group B alongside Pakistan, England, Ireland and West Indies. The top two teams from both groups will advance into the semi-final. The finale of the tournament is scheduled for 26 February in Cape Town.

In the previous edition of the T20 World Cup, the Women in Blue were just one win away from lifting the World Cup trophy but in the final clash, lost against Australia, who took the trophy back home with the record-breaking fifth title under their belt. While chasing Indian team was all-out for just 99 runs.
