The Women’s Premier League (WPL) has turned out to be a major step towards the upliftment of the women’s cricket in India. The six teams which take on each other for one trophy wherein top women cricketers from all over the world and come together to entertain the Indian fans. Royal Challengers Bengaluru who are the current champions of the Women’s Premier League will be looking forward on defending their title this time. The WPL has created the same hype for women’s cricket in India that the Indian Premier League has done for the men’s cricket. As the mega auction of the Indian Premier League commenced in Jeddah earlier this week, fans now are very curious about knowing the auction date of WPL 2025.

Women’s Premier League Mini Auction Expected To Take Place On December 15

As per a report by ESPNcricinfo, the mini auction of the Women’s Premier League 2025 can be held in Bengaluru on December 15. The reports adds that there will be a slight increase in the team purse from last which will be increased to INR 15 crores. The total team purse was INR 13.5 crores until last year. Big names such as Heather Knight, Lea Tahuhu and Deandra Dottin are all set to feature in the mini auction.

Delhi Capitals led by Meg Lanning have the least purse with INR 2.5 crores whereas Gujarat Giants go forward with INR 4.40 crores, which will be the most money for any franchise in the upcoming auction. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru have a remaining purse of INR 3.25 crores. Mumbai Indians have a total purse of INR 2.65 crores whereas UP Warriorz have a total of INR 3.90 crores.
