New Delhi: Bangladesh broke India’s 6-year dominance by beating the Blues and lifting the Asia Cup trophy in the previous edition of the Women’s Asia Cup. In the 2022 tournament, India will be looking forward to take back their throne. 

Last week, it was announced by Asian Cricket Council president, Jay Shah that India will meet arch-rivals Pakistan on October 7 in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup, scheduled to begin in Bangladesh’s Sylhet on October 1.

Here is the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 schedule for team India:

India has proved to be the most dominant team in the Women’s Asia Cup winning 6 of the 7 editions played till now. After losing to Bangladesh in the last Asia Cup by 3 wickets in Malaysia the Blues have now waited 4 years for revenge.

The tournament was due to take place in 2020 in Bangladesh, but was postponed to 2021 and then eventually 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

India has announced their 15-members squad for the upcoming women’s Asia Cup as the Women in Blue gear up to fight in the bridesmaid event of the World Cup. Harmanpreet Kaur will be leading the side while star player Smriti Mandhana will be her deputy in the upcoming Asia Cup.
