RCB vs SRH: With the Royal Challengers Bengaluru going into a challenging fixture against high-flying SunRisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad, the stakes are pretty high for Faf du Plessis and Co. as they are in a do=or die situation in terms of playoff qualification this year. Sitting rock-bottom in the league, all the odds are against Virat Kohli and his teammates.
Huddle up, Royal Challengers.

However, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has expressed optimism about Bengaluru’s chances in the ongoing IPL 2024 ahead of their match against SRH at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on April 25, Thursday. He acknowledged the significant challenge they face in reaching the playoffs from their current position. Despite being led by Faf du Plessis, the Challengers have struggled throughout the tournament.
“Bengaluru is not yet out. Of course, it’s extremely difficult. They are at the bottom of the table. In fact, this has become the joint-worst season in their history, that you have played so many chances and have only two points,” Chopra said.
According to Chopra, with only one victory in eight matches, this season marks RCB’s “joint-worst” performance in IPL history. They find themselves at the bottom of the table after suffering six consecutive defeats following their solitary win against PBKS in Bengaluru.
‘RCB Know How To Fight’
“However, there are two ways of playing. One is to accept defeat. This team will not accept defeat. They know how to fight and have a very loyal fan base. At times you play for the respect of your fans, that they gave you love and you will give them respect. In any case, you play to win and you give your best. You will expect that from this team,” Chopra added.
Nevertheless, Chopra expressed faith in RCB’s ability to stage a comeback, emphasizing their track record in such situations. He highlighted the importance of winning matches for their loyal fanbase, who have stood by them through thick and thin.
In the upcoming South Indian derby against Hyderabad, Bengaluru will face a confident Sunrisers side. The Orange Army has been in stellar form this season, winning five out of seven matches and setting numerous records along the way.
In their previous encounter, RCB narrowly lost by 25 runs while chasing down the highest total in IPL history, which was 287 runs.
