During the Tamil Nadu Premier League, R Ashwin showed his anger by clashing with the umpire when he was given out. The frustrations got so strong that Ashwin kept hitting himself on his pads with his bat after the dismissal. On the final ball of Sai Kishore for IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans, Ashwin, playing for Dindigul Dragons, was declared LBW. He then had a lengthy disagreement with the umpire, and after that, he went off the field after getting upset, while hitting his pads with the bat.

Won by 9 wickets
Dindigul Dragons gambled on having both their reviews struck out in the first over of the opposition’s innings to change the umpire’s decision. With Ashwin gone, the Dragons struggled to get runs. Just behind RK Jayant’s, Ashwin’s 18 runs is the second-best score of the match so far. Shivam Singh made 30 runs and the Dragons ended with only 93 runs on the board in 16.2 overs. Tamizhans picked 4 wickets with Esakimuthu A’s effort, and Mathivanan took 3 wickets. Captain Sai Kishore grabbed two wickets as well.
Looking for simple ones, Tamizhans’ wicketkeeper batter, Tushar Raheja, hit an unbeaten 65 runs to help his team win by 9 wickets with 49 balls left on the clock.
Retired while playing in the Australia series
A lot of people were shocked when R Ashwin retired from cricket after just the third Test match in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Although he performed well with the off-spin during the Adelaide Test, Rashid was not included for the Gabba match and decided to retire.
