The Women’s Premier League 2025 auction is being held in Bengaluru. Many big names such as Sneh Rana, Lauren Bell, Nadine de Klerk, Lizelle Lee and others went under the hammer. However, apart from Bell, no other player was able attract any buyer. However, the key highlight of the WPL 2025 auction has been Tamil Nadu cricketer G Kamalini. The 16-year old all-rounder for picked up for a price of INR 1.60 crores by the Mumbai Indians. The Mumbai Indians were involved in a bidding war along with Delhi Capitals to sign G Kamalini, however, at the end MI ended up winning the bid and made her the among the most expensive signings of Women’s Premier League 2025 auction.

Who Is G Kamalini?
G Kamalini is currently among the most promising women cricketers in the present time. Kamalini, who was born on July 20, 2008, is just 16 years old and made headlines with her brilliant performances in domestic and international circuit. The left-handed batter is also a wicket-keeper and can hit a long ball with her ability of explosive batting. Apart from doing wicket-keeping, she is also a clinical leg-spinner.
2023 turned out to be the breakthrough year for G Kamalini, wherein she delivered many standout performances at the national stage. Kamalini amassed 311 runs from eight matches and helped Tamil Nau win the U19 T20 domestic trophy. Kamalini also played a brilliant 79-run knock for India B against South Africa in the U19 Tri-Series final and helped her team win the match.
Following her exploits in domestic cricket and tri-series, G Kamalini was picked up for the U19 Indian team to play in the U19 Asia Cup. Kamalini’s stand out performance came against Pakistan wherein she played an innings of 44 runs from 29 balls which included four fours and three sixes.
