During the IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC), there was a playful exchange between RCB’s star batsman Virat Kohli and DC’s pacer Ishant Sharma. Kohli teased Ishant after successfully hitting him for a couple of boundaries. In the first instance, Kohli managed to edge the ball past the wicketkeeper, and as there was no fielder at first slip to stop it, the ball raced to the boundary. Kohli then humorously suggested to Ishant that he should consider placing a slip fielder for the next delivery.

In another instance, Kohli showcased his skills by hitting Ishant for a stylish six over deep wicket without even looking at the ball. However, Ishant managed to have the final say in the innings by dismissing Kohli on the fourth delivery of the over.

Ishant took the opportunity to playfully tease Kohli, giving him a friendly tug, which Kohli accepted with a grin, albeit with his head slightly lowered. This lighthearted exchange between Kohli and Ishant added to the camaraderie between them, and it occurred during the 4th over of RCB’s innings.

Kohli and Ishant share a long history dating back to their early days playing cricket in Delhi. Their connection extends to their time together in the Indian team, where Ishant has played under Kohli’s captaincy. The light-hearted banter between the two during the IPL match sparked a flurry of memes and jokes on social media platforms, highlighting the humorous side of their friendship and on-field rivalry.

In a playful turn of events, when Ishant stepped up to bat later in the game, Virat Kohli couldn’t resist teasing the tall Delhi Capitals star, adding another layer to their friendly rivalry on the field.

While Ishant managed to dismiss Kohli during the match, it was Kohli who ultimately had the final victory as RCB emerged triumphant, keeping their hopes alive in the playoff race. However, the win also meant a setback for Delhi, who are now on the brink of elimination from the top four contention, although there remains a mathematical possibility for them to still qualify.
