New Zealand All-Rounder, Glenn Phillips dismissed India’s Virat Kohli by taking a spectacular catch at backward point. Fans were shell-shocked when he caught Virat Kohli with a playing catch on Matt Henry’s delivery. Kohli cut the ball which fled to the right side of Phillips. Even Kohli was shocked when the Kiwi fielder caught an unexpected catch. The scarier part of the whole scene was the big smile that Phillips wore on his face after standing up from the ground while diving. But this is not the first time that Glenn Phillips took a flying catch.

Glenn Phillips took a sensational flying catch of Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne during the second Test match of the two-match Test series between New Zealand and Australia. The catch came in a similar way in which Virat Kohli was dismissed at backward point. Australia posted 256 runs on the second day of the second Test match in response to New Zealand’s 162 runs. Australia won the two match Test series by 2-0.

Phillips vs Mohammad Rizwan
Phillips justifying his title as one of the finest fielders in cricket, took Mohammad Rizwan’s catch in the league stage of the Champions Trophy 2025. He was positioned in a similar position as he was in Kohli’s innings. He dismissed Pakistan’s skipper in the same manner but this time the ball came to his left-hand side.
