Bihar batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi created history in the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction as he became the youngest-ever player to get sold in the history of the tournament. Suryavanshi was picked at a price of INR 1.10 crores by the Rajasthan Royals. Suryavanshi broke the record of Allah Ghazanfar who was picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders as a replacement of Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman in the last edition of the tournament. As the latter has achieved fame, there are also criticisms related to him in the cricket fraternity. There had been claims that Suryavanshi has commited age fraud.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Father Refuses Claims Of Age Fraud
However, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s father has denied all the claims. Speaking to PTI, Vaibhav’s father, Sanjiv Suryavanshi stated that when he was eight and half year’s old, the young batter went under bone Test. He added that they don’t fear anyone as Vaibhav Suryavanshi has already played India U19 and they are ready to undergo any other Test. He said, “When he was 8 and half years old he first appeared for a BCCI bone test. He has already played India U-19. We don’t fear anyone. He can again undergo age test.”
Before, Vaibhav Suryavanshi grabbed headlines when he became the youngest ever batter to register an international century. Suryavanshi played an innings of 104 from 62 balls against Australia U19 during a youth Test in Chennai earlier this year. Vaibhav Suryavanshi broke the record of current Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto. Suryavanshi also made his first-class debut for Bihar this year and has played five matches as of now.
