Inter Miami enter round of 16

After winning the group stage, Inter Miami hosted Orlando City SC in the Round of 16 and won 3-1. Messi scored twice against Orlando – in the 7th minute and the third goal in the 72nd minute.

Messi’s Inter Miami to face FC Dallas

Group runners-up FC Dallas had to beat Liga MX side Mazatlán FC in the Round of 16 to host Inter Miami. FC Dallas also kept their end of the deal, winning 2-1. Due to League Cup rules, FC Dallas will host Inter Miami despite being lower than the group, as the semifinal between the two MLS clubs will go to the team with the better 2022 MLS spot.
