India finishes off the innings at 249/9. Two important wickets of Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja were sent back to the pavilion by spectacular catches from Glenn Phillips and Kane Williamson respectively. Virat Kohli was dismissed at backward point. Just on the previous ball, Dinesh Kartik called Glenn Phillips the best fielder in the world and Phillips justified it completely. Shreyas Iyer’s 79 runs
Both the Indian openers were dismissed early at a mere 22 runs. Gill was dismissed at just 2 runs by Matt Henry and Rohit Sharma was dismissed by Kyle Jamieson at 15 runs. New Zealand had been in a completely dominating position right from the start. Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel tried to stabilize the innings by building a partnership of 98 runs. Iyer made a commendable 79 runs when he was dismissed by William ORourke and fell short of a potential ODI century.
