New Delhi: Umran Malik is the fast bowler of Sunrisers’ Hyderabad and has also played 3 matches for India. He is celebrating his 23rd birthday today. He was born on November 22 in the year 1999 in Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. Umran first appeared in the IPL 2020. he is a rising star and has also played matches for the national Indian men’s team. Let us have a look at Malik’s journey which was not that easy.
Umran left studies, but clutched onto cricket
Umran Malik’s father Rashid Malik is a small fruit seller. His mother is a housewife. He has two sisters in the family, one elder and the other younger. Umran was passionate for playing cricket since childhood owing to the environment in which he grew up. This helped him turn his interest into passion and follow it relentlessly. He used to play cricket throughout the night. However, the financial condition of his family led him to drop his studies.
Left everyone awe-struck with his speed
After leaving studies in 10th, Umran Malik paid full attention to cricket and gradually played domestic cricket. After performing well in the domestic, he was selected as a net bowler by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2020 IPL. Whereas in 2021, after the ouster of T Natarajan, he was suddenly included in the team. When he got a chance, he created ruckus with his speed and left everyone awe-struck. After this he was retained in 2022. He also balled the fastes ball of that IPL.

Selected in Team India
After surprising everyone in the IPL, Umran got a chance to play for Team India as well. Although he has played only 3 matches so far, but he is expected to play more matches. He is currently present with the team for the series which is being played against New Zealand.
