New Delhi: Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh were facing each other in the quarter-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Maharashtra’s captain and opener Ruturaj Gaiwkwad had played a brilliant innings. In doing so he did something which has not been done ever before.

Ruturaj Gaiwkwad smashed 7 sixes 

Ruturaj is also the opener for the Indian premiere League team of Chennai Super Kings. He was facing the left-arm spinner Shiva Singh in the 49th over. He scored 4 successive sixes in the first four deliveries of the over. Meanwhile, in the next ball the baller over-stepped the crease which resulted in an unfair deliver (no-ball). He smashed the ball for another six. Gaikwad continued his streak and smashed 7 sixes in a row in the over.
