In this match, South Africa chose to bat first and gave a target of 189 runs at the loss of 10 wickets. South Africa took a lead in the game in their innings. Australia ended the day with a lead of 197 runs.

South Africa gave a target of 189 runs whereas Australia lost two important wickets in 18 overs. Following this Steve Smith came out to bat and shared a partnership of over 150 runs with David Warner. Steve Smith is not known for hitting sixes but in the 38th over of the match, he returned Keshav Maharaj’s ball ruthlessly. Smith came on the front foot and brilliantly connected the bat with the delivery. The ball went across the boundary line.

David Warner scores century in 100th Test match
Australia’s legendary player David Warner wanted to make his 100th Test match memorable. For this, he played the game comfortably from the beginning of the innings and understood the condition of the ground. After which he gradually increased his speed of scoring. Warner has become the 10th batsman in the world to score a century in the 100th Test match. After completing the 78th run in this match, Warner also completed his 8000 runs in his Test career. He is the eighth Australian batsman to touch the figure of eight thousand in a Test match.
