New Delhi: Out of the three matches scheduled for today in the FIFA World Cup 2022, the third match was played between Qatar and Senegal. The hosts were defeated by Senegal from 3-1 on the scoreboard.
Earlier, Qatar has became the first host to lose in the opening game. They faced a 2-0 defeat from Ecuador. Qatar had the last chance to day to keep up hope for the Super-16. But after losing Senegal, they have now narrowed down any chance to qualify into the next stage.
Senegal scored three goals
Senegal scored the first goal of the match. Boulaye Dia scored the first goal for Senegal just before the halftime, in the 41st minute. Just after the half-time, Famara Diedhiou scored the second goal in the 48th minute. The third goal was scored by Bamba Dieng in the 84th minute.

Muntari scored the sole goal for Qatar
Meanwhile, Qatar was able to score only one goal throughout the game. Mohammaed Muntari scored the sole goal for the host nation in the 78th minute.
