In a video posted by the ICC, Rohit Sharma was captured lifting sand from the Barbados pitch, where India and South Africa had contested the final. The Hitman then placed the sand in his mouth.
After the match concluded, Rohit Sharma also announced his retirement from T20 International cricket during the press conference.
“This was my last game as well,” the captain stated in his post-match press conference, echoing a similar announcement made earlier by Virat Kohli.
