New Delhi: The FIFA World Cup 2022 entered its sixth day today. The first match today was played between Wales and Iran. The match was very exciting as it proceeded towards with neither side scoring a goal. However, at the end Iran won the game by scoring 2 goals while Wales were not able to score any goal.

Iran might reach Super-16
With this victory, Iran’s hopes of reaching the Super-16 have remained intact. They were playing in the Group B match of this tournament. Both the teams were playing their second match.

Wales played their first match against America which ended in a 1-1 draw. Meanwhile, Iran suffered a crushing defeat in their first match from England. They lost the match with 6-2.
Meanwhile, in the match against Wales, the match progressed without a goal for 90 minutes. But in the extra time, Iran overturned the whole situation by scoring two goals. With this victory, Iran has secured 3 points. Iran’s hopes to go to the Super-16 are still intact.

Iran scored in last 3 minutes
None of the teams were able to score a gola in the stipulated 90 minutes time of the game. In the extra time, Iranian players paced up the game and scored 2 deciding goals.
The first goal was scored by Rouzbeh Cheshmi in the 90+8 minute. Ramin Rezaeian followed with another goal at 90+11 minute. This secured Iran’s win over Wales.

First red card of the tournament to Hennessy
Wales goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey received his first red card of the tournament. He was shown a red card by the referee in the 86th minute. In the 86th minute, Iranian players were coming towards the Wales goalkeeper to score. Just then, the goalkeeper clashed with the player to save the goal.
Owing to this act the referee gave him the red card. He had to leave the field. Earlier in the tournament, yellow cards have been received by many players. But, no one got the red card before Hennessy in the tournament.
