Northern Supercharges had only Harry Brook, who set the stadium on fire with his sensational 42 balls century. Brook also displayed his fielding masterclass at the boundary rope as his catch send back Jonny Bairstow to the pavilion. Harry Brook was the lone wolf for the Supercharges as they lost the 30th game of The Hundred 2023 by 8 wickets to Welsh Fire.
How it happens
It all happened on the 82nd ball of the match when Bairstow hit Brydon Carse over the leg side. The ball seemed to almost clear the fence at rocket speed until Brook appeared out of nowhere and hit the white leather before crossing the boundary line. Although Brook caught the ball on the second attempt, he again lost his balance and threw the ball a second time towards teammate Adam Hosea before going over the fence. Hose finished the catch comfortably and Bairstow fell short of the half-century he deserved.
