WATCH: David Warner Walks Towards Wrong Dressing Room After Dismissal In Barbados

This humorous incident was caught on TV as Warner experienced a momentary lapse after his determined innings of 56 off 51 balls in Australia's successful match against Oman

Australia opener David Warner appeared lost in thought on Thursday after being dismissed in their T20 World Cup opener against Oman at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. The experienced batter mistakenly climbed the stairs leading to the Oman dressing room instead of the Australian one, before his teammates alerted him from the field. Realizing his error, Warner quickly descended the stairs and made his way to the correct dressing room.

This humorous incident was caught on TV as Warner experienced a momentary lapse after his determined innings of 56 off 51 balls in Australia’s successful match against Oman. Warner anchored the Australian innings against a determined Oman attack before Marcus Stoinis unleashed a powerful 36-ball 67, helping Australia set a winning total of 164 on a sluggish pitch.

David Warner Becomes Leading Run-Scorer For Australia

Warner had a record-breaking outing in Barbados, surpassing his former captain Aaron Finch to become Australia’s leading run-scorer in men’s T20Is. Warner brought his tally to 3155 runs in 104 innings, ending his knock against Oman with 35 runs more than Finch’s total.

Finch congratulated Warner from the commentary box at the Kensington Oval, and Warner acknowledged with a thumbs up, creating a heartwarming moment captured on television.

Warner is set to retire from international cricket after the T20 World Cup campaign in the USA and the West Indies, having already retired from ODIs and Tests earlier this year.

Australia’s performance against Oman was clinical, with Marcus Stoinis earning the Player of the Match award for his all-round efforts. Stoinis took 3 wickets alongside his explosive 67 with the bat, as Oman were restricted to 125 for 9 in their 20 overs.

Warner will aim to build on his strong start when Australia faces arch-rivals England in their next game in Barbados on June 8.
