It was the first half-century of Warner in the Big Bash League since 2013 back, when the competition was still trying to get into its feet. But, with the years passed by, Warner became the one among the most explosive players across the world in terms of T20, accumulating as many as a thousand unforgettable performances in both IPL and for Australia. It has been a joy to watch him lead Sydney Thunder with such enthusiasm this season in the BBL, blending his vast experience with his natural aggression.

What Warner did was not wait for this moment but take the pedal off the floor. Warner remained unbeaten on 86* off 57 balls, with 10 boundaries and two sixes. His thrilling knock ensured Sydney Thunder put together a competitive 156/4 in the first innings and thus built a good base for the team. This was the moment Warner and his family were waiting for as well as everyone who was cheering for them.
