New Delhi: At the age of 38, Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is still making and breaking records. Ronaldo scored a penalty in the 75th minute of the match as Al-Nassr beat Al-Shorta 1-0 to secure a place in Wednesday’s Arab Club Champions Cup final. After the first VAR check, referee awarded the decisive penalty to Al-Nassr that decided the fate of the match, with Sadio Made knocked out in the box.

A few days ago, Ronaldo scored his first goal against Raja Casablanca as Al-Nassr beat Raja Casablanca 3-1 in the fourth quarter of the competition.

The Portuguese superstar scored in the 19th minute after an assist from teammate Talisca. The Brazilian footballer tricked two right-sided defenders into charging into the box and placing the ball on a plate before Ronaldo scored it into the goal.

Ronaldo against Al-Shorta

Ronaldo’s goal against Al-Shorta is his fourth consecutive goal in four matches. In the final of the Arab Club Champions Cup final, Al-Nassr will square against Al-Hilal.

Match highlight

With 64 percent possession and 15 shots, Al-Nassr clearly dominated the semi-final match. The Riyadh-based side could easily have a three-point lead within ten minutes of the game. But Al Shota’s Iraqi goalkeeper Ahmed Bashir made two decisive saves to keep his team alive in the tournament.

The second half began similarly, with Al-Nassr continuing to play very aggressively. The breakthrough finally came in the 75th minute after Sadio Mane was fouled inside the penalty area by opposing center-back Faisal Jassim. Cristiano Ronaldo kept his cool and scored the winning goal. The Iraqi champions had a golden chance to equalize at the last minute, but Al Nasr goalkeeper Nawaf Arakidi made a decisive save to keep them clean.

After the game, Al-Nassr coach Luis Castro stressed the need to strengthen his side’s defense. “I asked the club for another foreign centre-back,” Castro said at the post-match press conference, according to Sportskeda.

Al Nasr failed to win a trophy last season, despite the high profile signing of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Saudi side are now aiming to end their trophy drought and win the Arab Club Champions Cup.

Ronaldo Al-Nassr’s appearance

Ronaldo’s excellent form is sure to give the club a big boost ahead of the final. The 38-year-old scored his first goal for Al Nasr in the Arab Club Champions Cup quarter-final against Raja Casablanca. Al-Nassr won the match 3-1 convincingly. Ronaldo has scored 17 goals in 23 appearances for Al-Nassr so far.

A Shift Towards BJP's Aggressive Hindutva Amid Opposition's Leadership Crisis

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
