The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) mourning for Shri Padmakar Shivalkar who passed away. He was a great Indian spinner and cricketing legend. Shivalkar’s 20-year playing career made its mark on the game and won him a special place as an Indian cricketing legend.
Shivalkar’s Cricketing Career
During his career, Shivalkar represented India in 124 first-class games, in which he took a record 589 wickets at a phenomenal average of 19.69. His exemplary consistency and performance on the pitch turned him into a terror to face and an asset to possess in Indian cricket.
For his great contribution to the game, Shivalkar was presented with the very prestigious Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. He will be missed for generations to come, but his legacy will stay with future cricketers to motivate and inspire them. His name will also be revered in the long roll of fame in Indian cricket’s great legends.
