The senior men’s squad of India will field a number of well-known players in the domestic competition, making the forthcoming Duleep Trophy season an exciting sight. Senior talents such as captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and R Ashwin were given exemptions, but players who will be competing in the Duleep Trophy include Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul, and Shubman Gill. But many of the supporters were astonished when batter Rinku Singh was left out of the Duleep Trophy team.
With his valiant effort in the IPL 2023, the batter for the Kolkata Knight Riders gained recognition. He went on to play several outstanding white-ball cricket innings for India. But he was unable to get a spot among the 60 players that the BCCI selected for the Duleep Trophy.
Reacting to his rejection, the 26-year-old batsman revealed that his poor performance in domestic cricket is the primary cause.
“Nothing…I didn’t perform that well (in domestic season). I didn’t play many matches in the Ranji Trophy…I played 2-3 matches. I wasn’t selected because I didn’t play that well. I might get selected for next-round matches,” Rinku told Sportstak

Rinku has participated in 47 games of first-class cricket, amassing 3173 runs at a strike average of 71.59. He has twenty half-centuries and seven centuries.
International players including pacer Mohammed Siraj, wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav, premier all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel, Shubman Gill, and Yashasvi Jaiswal will compete in the Duleep Trophy in 2024.
Additionally chosen is T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav, who faced Australia in a Test match in 2023. All other players have confirmed their spots in the team except Surya.

Since each Indian player was only expected to participate in one match, Ashwin, Bumrah, Rohit, and Kohli were granted exceptions.
Two Test matches between India and Bangladesh are scheduled to begin on September 19 in Chennai and September 27 in Kanpur.
