Initially called up by selectors after India lost the opening Test against New Zealand, Sundar’s performance has drawn considerable attention.
Major Teams’ Interest In The Auction
According to reports by the Times of India, Sundar, who played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024, appears all set to enter the auction pool. Sundar’s IPL Career
Despite being a victim of the ‘Impact Player’ rule, which limited his appearances, Sundar is considered a valuable asset in the upcoming auction. He played just two matches for Sunrisers, taking one wicket and conceding 73 runs in five overs.
With selectors and management supporting him, Sundar’s value has also increased, particularly after his performance at Pune, which made him the third spinner for India’s Test series against Australia, following Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.
Throughout his IPL career, Sundar played 60 matches across three franchises: Rising Pune Supergiant in 2017, Royal Challengers Bengaluru between 2018 and 2021, and Sunrisers Hyderabad since 2022.
He has scored 378 runs and taken 37 wickets. With the IPL auction coming up, Sundar would be one of the hottest properties.
