Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana and singer-composer Palash Muchhal have unexpectedly found themselves at the centre of a social media storm. Their relationship, once celebrated widely, is now in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, with speculation swirling that Palash may have been unfaithful before the wedding.
The buzz started when screenshots of Palash’s alleged private chat with choreographer Mary D’Costa went viral. The leaked messages show Palash reportedly insisting on meeting Mary and expressing frustration over his long-distance relationship with Smriti. The online uproar grew quickly, with many claiming that the wedding was postponed after this supposed “fraud” came to light.
Mary clarified about this rumour
But there’s another twist – Mary herself has now clarified the situation. Taking to Instagram, she shared that she has never met Palash, distancing herself from the controversy and refusing to confirm the authenticity of the leaked chat. Still, the damage seems to have been done.

Adding to the confusion, neither Smriti nor Palash has issued any official statement about the viral messages. Fans, however, noticed that Smriti quietly deleted all her pre-wedding posts featuring Palash, fuelling further speculation about where the couple stands now.
Wedding postponded
The wedding was already delayed once after Smriti’s father was hospitalized. Reports suggest he has now been discharged, but it’s unclear whether the couple plans to go ahead with the ceremony. Palash, too, was reportedly admitted to the hospital due to stress, adding yet another layer to the situation.
For now, there are more questions than answers. With no confirmation from Smriti or Palash, and the leaked chats still unverified, the future of their much-talked-about wedding remains wrapped in suspense.
If either of them breaks their silence, the story could take yet another turn. Until then, fans can only wait and watch.
