Virat Kohli’s outside off-stump ball has been the major concern for Team India now. It has turned out to be a nightmare for Virat Kohli. He has been dismissed 8 times in 9 innings during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. In a recent podcast of Beyond23 Cricket Podcast hosted by former Australian captain Michael Clarke, he was asked a question by Boria Majumdar, about how can Virat Kohli solve his outside off stump problem? Clark said,
“Virat’s greatest strength is bat on ball. He just plays it in a different way. So bat on ball is fine. Energy, intent, moving your feet, get forward, get back, that’s his strength. So get closer to the ball. You want to hit it? Get closer to it. Get your foot close to the ball.”
“Get your head close to the ball. Once it gets too wide that you can’t get closer, you naturally will let that go. I don’t think Virat needs to look at it as a weakness. I think he needs to go, right, I’ve got to be sharper with my feet. I’ve got to have more intent. I’ve got to be more confident.”, he added.
