Record of winning player of the match 10 times
Virat Kohli is the only cricketer who has won the Player of the Match award 10 or more times in all three formats (Test, ODI and T20). He became the first player to win 10 consecutive Player of the Match awards as soon as he won it against Australia.

Virat Kohli has become the Player of the Match 10 times in Tests. He has won the Player of the Match award 38 times in ODIs and 15 times in T20i.

Virat Kohli was scoring runs consistently in ODIs and T20s, but his bat went silent in Tests. But in the last Test match, Virat played the match-winning knock and also buildup a strong partnership with Axar Patel.

Virat said that he was desperate to score a hundred for his team when they need him the most.
“I had let complications grow on me a bit because of my shortcomings. The desperation to get that three-figure mark can grow on you as a batter and I let that happen to me to some extent. I am not the guy who is happy with 40-45 runs, when I know I can get 150 and help my team,” Virat said in a video posted by BCCI, featuring Team India head coach Rahul Dravid.
