New Delhi: The FIFA World Cup 2022 is starting from 20 November in Qatar. The opening ceremony of this tournament is going to be very grand. Many famous artists and politicians are going to participate in it. The Indian team is not participating in this tournament but the country’s Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar is going to represent India there. The Vice President will be there to talk to FIFA officials about the future of Indian football, besides meeting Indian diaspora living in Qatar.

Jagdeep Dhankar will visit Qatar
Jagdeep Dhankhar will visit Qatar on November 20-21 at the invitation of Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Apart from attending the opening ceremony of the Football World Cup, the Vice President will also meet members of the Indian diaspora during his visit. The visit is aimed at strengthening the relations between India and Qatar.
FIFA World Cup 2022 will be held in this format
A total of 32 teams are participating in the FIFA World Cup 2022. They will compete in 48 league matches. Only 16 teams that are performing well here will qualify for the next round. The teams are divided into 8 groups after the league matches. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Top 16. The tournament will then see the quarter-final matches.

All the teams are divided into 8 groups and after the league matches, the top two placed teams in each group will advance to the Top 16 round, followed by quarter-final matches among eight teams. The semi-final matches will be held on 14 and 15 December. The two semi-final losers will clash for the third place on December 17. And the title match of the tournament will be played on December 18.
