The Indian team registered a 10-wicket victory over United Arab Emirates in the ACC U19 Asia Cup 2024 match. Indian openers Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre put up a brilliant partnership for the first wicket and smacked the UAE bowlers to all the parts of the ground. Suryavanshi remained unbeaten on 76 runs from 46 balls whereas Mhatre slammed 67* runs from 51 balls. The Indian team has been on top in the ACC U19 Men’s Asia Cup as of now, however, they received an unwanted defeat at the hands of Pakistan.

Batting first at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, United Arab Emirates were wrapped up for a score of 137 runs and were only able to bat for 44 overs. Indian bowlers showcased a combined effort wherein Yudhajit Guha picked up a three-wicket haul followed by two-fers from Chetan Sharma and Hardik Raj. UAE batter Rayan Khan was the highest run scorer for his team and played an innings of 35 runs from 48 balls.

Chasing down the target, the Indian team was off to a flyer, wherein Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi started to take on the UAE bowlers from the first ball of the innings. Suryavanshi smacked six sixes during his stay at the crease whereas Mhatre smashed four fours and four sixes while batting along with his partner Suryavanshi.

The Indian team moved to the top of the points table after defeating UAE in their third match of the tournament and have also qualified for the next stages of the competition. On the other hand, Pakistan is placed on the second spot and have also reached in the second round of the tournament.
