The 2025 US Open is already underway at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York and even before the first serve is hit, history has already been created. The current edition of the tournament will be the biggest-paying tennis tournament in history $90 million (INR 785 crore), a 20% jump from last year’s figure of $75 million.
Highest Payout Among Grand Slams
The US Open prize purse comfortably leaves behind the Big Three Grand Slams -Wimbledon, the Australian Open, and French Open. Wimbledon is the closest to the US Open, but Wimbledon singles champions still receive only slightly more than $4 million compared to the $5 million (INR 43.6 crore) this year’s winners in New York will earn.
Singles Champions to Receive $5 Million
The singles winners for men and women will receive $5 million each, the largest single Grand Slam prize. For context, last year’s men’s and women’s singles winners, Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka respectively, received $3.6 million ( INR 31.39 crore) each.
Doubles Winners Cash In Too
Prize money is not just flying high for singles competitors. The winners of doubles events will take home $1 million (INR 8.72 crore) per pair, so all participants across formats get a benefit from the money explosion.
