Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic are all set for a semi-final match at the US Open 2025. The two players will be facing each other for the 9th time with Serb leading the head-to-head record. Djokovic has five wins, while Alcaraz just has three.
The world no.7, Djokovic secured a hard-fought win over the fourth-seeded American Taylor Fritz on Wednesday, September 3. He looked content with his 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 victory, which lasted three hours and 24 minutes. There was a brief dip in the third set which gave a chance to Fritz to make a comeback but the Serbian quickly regrouped to conclude the match in four sets.
While, Alcaraz secured 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 victory in just under two hours, maintaining his perfect record of not dropping a set in US Open this year. He defeated Jiri Lehecka in straight sets to seal his spot in the semi-final and stay on track for his first hard-court Grand Slam title since 2022.
After the win, Alcaraz appreciated Novak’s game and he mentioned how he will want revenge considering Djokovic leading the head-to-head record.
“We all know Novak’s game. Doesn’t matter he has been out of the tour since Wimbledon, he’s playing great matches here,” said Alcaraz in his post-match press conference
