In the world of T20 cricket, there are good knocks and then there are innings that set the tournament alight. On a cool evening in Uttarakhand, Sanskar Rawat did the latter.
The Dehradun Warriors opener played an absolute gem of a knock, hammering 116 runs off just 52 balls to single-handedly dismantle Tehri Titans in a lopsided contest in the Uttarakhand Premier League 2025.
Sanskar Storm Leaves Titans in Tatters
Chasing a modest target of 143, Dehradun didn’t get off to a fairy-tale start. Skipper Yuvraj Chaudhary failed to get going, falling for just 15. But while the captain’s dismissal may have given the Titans some early hope, what followed was an onslaught of pure, brutal, fearless batting from Sanskar Rawat.
With an unshakable calm at the crease and a bat that seemed to have a rocket booster attached, Sanskar tore into the bowling attack with 11 boundaries and 7 towering sixes. There was no corner of the field untouched. Cover drives, slog sweeps, lofted straight shots – the full batting manual was on display.
By the time Sanskar finished, Dehradun had raced to 143 in just 13 overs, sealing a thumping 9-wicket win and sending a clear message to the rest of the league.
A Back-to-Back Blitz
This wasn’t a one-off wonder either. In the previous game, Sanskar had smashed a 52 off 25 balls, hinting at a form surge. But few expected him to double down so emphatically, especially in a pressure chase.
His shot selection, confidence, and strike rotation show a batter who’s not just in form but in control.
Unsung Hero: Ananjay Suryavanshi
While Rawat hogged the limelight, Ananjay Suryavanshi played the perfect foil. Their century stand ensured there were no hiccups in the chase. Ananjay rotated the strike smartly and allowed Sanskar to do what he does best – clear boundaries with ease.
Tehri Titans Left Searching for Answers
Earlier, the Titans could only manage 142/7 in their 20 overs – a below-par total on a batting-friendly surface. None of their batters could capitalize after getting started, and the total was never going to be enough against a side with momentum and firepower.
Their bowlers, too, looked clueless and toothless against Sanskar’s assault. With not much margin for error in a tournament like the UPL, the Titans will need to regroup quickly.
A Star in the Making?
Sanskar Rawat’s knock was more than just a statistical feat – it was a statement performance. The kind that makes scouts take notice. The kind that makes fans sit up. The kind that builds legacies.
At this age, Sanskar has shown he has not only the skill, but the temperament for the big stage. If he keeps this form going, don’t be surprised if the IPL or national selectors come knocking.
