UPL T20 2025: The Eliminator match of the Uttarakhand Premier League 2025, held on October 4th, saw Nainital SG Tigers go head-to-head with Dehradun Warriors in a high-stakes battle for a spot in the final. Nainital, batting first, put up an impressive total of 188 for 8 in their 20 overs.
Shashwat Dangwal Leads the Charge
Shashwat Dangwal was the star with the bat for Nainital, playing a stunning knock of 90 runs off 60 balls, laced with 8 boundaries and 5 sixes. He was well supported by Dikshanshu Negi, who contributed a quickfire 50 off 32 deliveries. Saurabh Rawat added a valuable 30 off just 12 balls, helping the team set a competitive target.
Dehradun Bowlers Show Some Resistance
Despite the onslaught, Dehradun’s bowlers had some standout performances. Devendra Bora and Mayank Mishra were particularly impressive, both picking up 2 wickets each while keeping things tight. Bora finished with figures of 2 for 27 in his four overs, while Mayank conceded just 31 runs in his quota.
Dehradun’s Chase Falls Short
Chasing 189 to win, Dehradun Warriors stumbled early. Openers Sanskar Rawat (1) and Yuvraj Chaudhary (5) failed to provide a solid start. Samarth Semwal tried to revive the innings with a blazing 58 off 29 balls, but it wasn’t enough. The team eventually managed 168 for 8 in their 20 overs, falling short by 20 runs.
Nainital March into the Final
With this crucial win, Nainital SG Tigers booked their place in the final, thanks to a collective team effort and standout performances with both bat and ball. Despite the loss, Dehradun’s fight, especially from their bowlers and Semwal’s innings, was commendable.
